Writer Julia Navarro Presents Her Latest Book in Mojácar to a Large Audience

Once again, Mojácar drew a large crowd for its “Mojácar Literary Space” cycle, featuring author Julia Navarro presenting her latest work, “A Shared History.” Navarro was warmly welcomed by the Corporation and Mayor Francisco García, who joined her in signing the town’s book of honor.

“Sometimes dreams become reality. Mojácar is a real dream. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this beautiful reality. With all my love and admiration,” Navarro expressed in gratitude for the opportunity.

At the Multi-Uses Centre, a sizable audience eagerly awaited Navarro’s presentation, introduced by Antonio Lao, editor of the Diario de Almería. For over an hour, Navarro shared anecdotes about “A Shared History” and discussed various current topics.

Written during the pandemic and lockdown, the book weaves together the stories of influential women throughout history, highlighting their contributions in science and literature, often alongside the men who accompanied them. Navarro emphasized, “Since the beginning of time, the lives of men and women have been intertwined, and one cannot be explained without the other.”

The audience, deeply engaged, interrupted Navarro’s speech with spontaneous applause, reflecting their captivation. Following the presentation and Q&A session, over 200 attendees formed a long queue to have their books signed and to chat and take photographs with Navarro.

Throughout the event, Navarro remained approachable and friendly, despite her success, demonstrating her connection to contemporary concerns and the ongoing dialogue in Spanish society.
