The Three Kings Visit Mojácar
Their Majesties, the Three Wise Men of the East—Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar—fulfilled their annual appointment with the children of Mojácar without fail.
Officially received at the municipal offices in Plaza del Arbollón by the local mayor, Francisco García Cerdá, and his government team, Their Majesties, accompanied by their pages and the Corporation, proceeded to the Santa María Church to offer gold, incense, and myrrh to the newborn baby Jesus.
Welcomed by the Parish Priest, Mr. Víctor Manuel Fernández, Their Majesties were escorted to the altar where a representation of the Holy Family awaited them.
Following the religious ceremony, a parade was planned to transport Their Majesties to the Multi-Uses Centre, where local children eagerly awaited their arrival to receive the first of many gifts on this magical night.
Despite inclement weather forcing the suspension of the parade, Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar proceeded on foot, distributing sweets and candies to the families who eagerly awaited them in Mojácar’s old town. Accompanied by Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto, the Three Wise Men and their pages brought joy to the streets.
Upon reaching the Multi-Uses Centre, Their Majesties distributed small presents to all the children born between 2012 and 2024 who reside in the locality. With a list containing the names of all the youngsters, a royal assistant called them forward one by one to receive their gifts from Melchior, Caspar, or Balthasar. The occasion provided an opportunity for personal greetings, photos with the illustrious characters, and for children to make any last-minute gift requests they may have forgotten in their royal letters.
Nearly 500 presents were distributed to the excited children of the locality, who cherished the magical afternoon in the company of some of Christmas’s most beloved characters.
