Children’s Playgrounds on the Beach

Mojácar Council has undertaken a complete restructuring of three children’s playgrounds located at Marina de la Torre, El Palmeral, and Cueva del Lobo. This initiative involved replacing all play elements with ones better suited in size and safety for younger children. New elements have been introduced to enhance interaction and autonomy for users.

Additionally, the entire playground surfaces have been revamped with vulcanized rubber featuring coarse granules in vibrant colors. The fencing surrounding the playgrounds has also been replaced with safer and sturdier options, providing enhanced protection.

These three playgrounds join others updated last year at Piedra Villazar and El Descargador. Plans are underway for the complete remodeling of the final two playgrounds located at Vista de los Ángeles and El Parador next year, completing the restructuring of all children’s playgrounds along Mojácar beach.

In total, Mojácar boasts nine children’s playgrounds, with one located in the old town, one at the fountain, and the rest spread out along the nearly two-kilometer seafront promenade.

Ana García, the Council’s Parks Councillor, expressed satisfaction with these works, emphasizing their significant contribution to the development of the youngest members of the community. For the Parks Department, playgrounds serve not only as a source of fun but also play a crucial role in fostering cognitive, physical, and social awareness.

Mayor Francisco García Cerdá, accompanied by his Government team, visited the new playgrounds, underscoring their commitment to prioritizing childhood in society. They recognize that investing in childhood is investing in the future, acknowledging the importance of providing children with safe and stimulating environments for healthy development.
