Mojácar Council Publishes the Rules to Authorize Artistic Performances in the Public Domain Over Christmas 2023-2024
Mojácar is preparing for a festive season filled with artistic expression and cultural vibrancy, aiming to uphold its reputation as a Christmas destination of choice in the province. Recognizing the importance of artistic expression in its society, the Mojácar Council has launched initiatives to promote creativity and revitalization in public spaces, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
To facilitate this, the council has issued regulations governing the presence of various forms of street art in the streets of the old town during the Christmas period of 2023-2024. Street art, encompassing music, theatre, dance, painting, and other similar activities, will be welcomed as part of the festive celebrations, enriching the cultural tapestry of Mojácar.
Interested artists and performers are required to submit their applications to the Mojácar Council’s entrance register during designated hours or through its online platform. Applications must include detailed descriptions of the proposed activities and be accompanied by the applicant’s identification. Incomplete applications will be subject to correction within a specified timeframe to ensure compliance with requirements.
An evaluation commission comprising councillors from the tourism, culture, and festivities departments will review applications, considering factors such as the variety and quality of the proposed performances, innovation, and target audience. Authorized activities will be granted specific space allocations, operating hours, and dates within the Christmas season.
The council’s efforts aim to create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere in Mojácar’s old town, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy a diverse range of artistic expressions during the holiday season. By fostering creativity and community engagement, Mojácar continues to establish itself as a cultural hub in the region.
