Mojacar Cultural Programme Autumn 2023

Mojácar Council has organized a full program of cultural and sports events that will take place in the municipality throughout October and November.

From the 1st to the 30th of October, at the La Fuente Municipal Art Centre, the Friends of Painting Group, thanks to Gracia Peralta and her pupils, present a painting exhibition. On the 11th, the artists will be in the gallery to discuss their works with exhibition visitors and will offer a welcome cocktail. Entry is free.

On the weekend of the 7th and 8th of October, the Lady of Our Rosary festivities can be enjoyed in the old town, and on the beach, the first edition of the Oktoberfest festival will take place, with which the people of Mojácar want to celebrate the arrival of autumn.

For dance lovers, the “Burbujas de Papel” (Paper Bubbles) show will take place on the 12th at 7 pm in the Multi-Uses Centre. “Burbujas de Papel,” from the Múcab Dans company, tells the story of a trumpet player who loves bubbles and round houses. Driven by his passion, he arrives at Bombalia, where he will live and meet many characters.

On the 27th of October, organized by the el Jalí AMPA parents’ association, in collaboration with Mojácar Council, pupils from the Bartolomé Flores Public School will celebrate their terrifying “Halloween Fiesta”. From 6-9 pm, the Multi-Uses Centre will bring together the scariest beings from beyond, sharing games, sweets, and excitement.

Two important sports events mark the month of October. On the 15th of October, the 38th Mojácar Popular Race will take place. At 10 in the morning, the complete category will start from Plaza Nueva, and at 10:30 am, the children’s category will begin. The “Macenas MTB 2023” MTB cycle race will be held on the 29th of October. With the starting point from the Macenas Mediterranean Resort complex, the short route covers 21kms, with 531m elevation, and the long route, 42.4kms and 1,443 elevation.

November will arrive full of theatre performances, a month in Mojácar traditionally dedicated to the performing arts. Every Friday in the Multi-Uses Centre, different companies will stage stories for all audiences.

It is worth highlighting the 25th of November when the youngest will have a special family party. The magic of Disney from 11:30 am in Mojácar Pueblo will fill the streets and squares when the old town receives all the characters from the famous animation factory. The magical procession will be complemented by parades, games, children’s workshops, fancy dress, and a song contest. To recharge batteries, there will be free paella for all those attending, among many more surprises.
