The “Costa De Almeria” Beach Volleyball Tournament Closes in Mojácar
Mojácar hosted the final of the “Costa de Almería” beach volleyball tournament, marking the conclusion of the provincial circuit that passed through the localities of San José and San Juan de los Terreros.
The weekend turned Ventanicas beach into the center of beach volleyball and attracted the best players in the province, along with many spectators who didn’t want to miss the final.
The event spanned the weekend, with 16 pairs competing in a local tournament on Saturday. The Huércal-Overa team emerged as the winners, while Mojácar was represented by Alejandro Villegas and Daniel Flores.
On Sunday, the competition focused on the tour, with 25 pairs competing across the women’s and men’s categories. It was a day of excellent beach volleyball, showcasing a high level of play on the courts set up on Ventanicas beach. The beach provided a perfect setting for the competition and the practice of sport.
In the men’s category, the brothers Alejandro and Javier Yuste claimed victory, followed by Darius Cernauskas and José Carlos García in second place. The pair of Luori and Dimas from Lorca secured third place.
In the women’s category, the duo of Andrea Narváez and Chanel Valderrama emerged victorious, with Sofia Smiehk and Elena Abtil in second place, and Judith Ross and Jana Ross from Granada in third place.
The trophies were presented by Mojácar Council Sports Councillor Jesús Montoya Gredilla and Citizenship Councillor María Luisa Pérez López.
