Mojacar Council Starts a Beach and Natural Spaces Environmental Awareness-raising Campaign

Mojácar Council has launched a comprehensive communication campaign aimed at raising environmental awareness among residents, visitors, and beach users across the municipality. The initiative was presented by Mojácar Mayor Francisco García Cerdá and his government team, underscoring the municipality’s commitment to sustainability and the preservation of natural resources, particularly the coastline spanning 17 kilometers, which is a key tourist attraction.

Despite growing environmental awareness, the government team recognizes the need to communicate basic rules for beach use and messages promoting the conservation and protection of the environment. The campaign aims to improve the environmental condition of the beaches and natural spaces while raising social awareness to facilitate this goal.

Key objectives of the campaign include promoting beach cleanliness, highlighting the vulnerability of coastal areas, communicating proper beach use practices, and emphasizing the importance of respecting the environment. To achieve these objectives, Mojácar Council has designed various communication actions, including a short video, the installation of environmental awareness messages on infobus supports throughout the municipality, and informative signage at main beach access points. Additionally, efforts will be made to actively engage in sustainable practices within the natural environment.

The campaign, launched in the summer of 2023, is designed to remain active throughout the year, reflecting Mojácar Council’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
