The “la Fuente” Municipal Art Centre Opens Its Doors to the Works of Pedro Molina
Mojácar Council has opened the doors of the “La Fuente” Art Hall to a painting exhibition by local artist Pedro Molina, a resident of Garrucha, although born in Turre. Pedro Molina presents his work, paying homage to the great classics of painting of all times. As a self-taught artist and a lover of figurative art, he faithfully reproduces the works of the most recognized masters in history, capturing not only their mastery but also the atmosphere and intention of the paintings.
Although he has been attracted to abstract art and other styles at times, it is realism that ultimately guides his hand when facing canvases, defining his definitive path in painting. Self-taught and constantly learning, he reproduces paintings with meticulous attention to detail, using oil and all technical resources appropriate for each work, emphasizing the final expression he wishes to convey.
With a long career working with his brushes, this is the second time he has exhibited in Mojácar, though this exhibition is one of the most significant due to the large amount of work presented. Among his favorite painters, Rubens, Velázquez, and Vermeer stand out, alongside many others on his special list of masters.
The inauguration was attended by Culture Councillor Noemí Linares, accompanied by Mojácar Council councillors Jesús Gredilla, María Gracia Alarcón, and Ana García. Noemí Linares expressed interest in Pedro Molina’s work and had the opportunity to visit the exhibition with the artist, who expressed his gratitude to Mojácar Council for the opportunity to exhibit his work in such a prestigious venue. The Culture Councillor reiterated the department’s and the local authority’s interest in showcasing local artists, many of whom are of great quality, and in continuing Mojácar’s tradition as a meeting point for creatives in all artistic disciplines.
The Pedro Molina exhibition will remain open to the public, with free entry, until August 13th. The La Fuente Art Centre is open from Tuesday to Sunday, in the mornings from 11 am to 2 pm, and in the afternoons from 7 pm to 10 pm.
